A septolet poem, 14 words, 7 lines, 3rd place, Pond Poetry, February 2011
The original image this was written to, was of a railroad car with a couple of young people in it.  The doors were open, they were looking across the way, across a road partially covered in shadows.  The required form was a Septolet.  This is my first try at writing one.


Beckoning Shadows


Gazing out
Over tracks
Eyes squinted
Against the glare

Mystifying shadows
Beckon
Them both
