A poem about coming alive again after a stifling relationship
The air is crisp and clear.
My mood is as light as the air.
I finally feel the wind on my cheeks,
all because your're not here.
The birds are singing a song
to which I know the melody.
There's a hop in my step,
a smile on my lips.
All because you're not here with me.
My eyes are alight.
I hear laughter everywhere.
And even though winter is here-
I feel spring in the air!
I used to feel so down
with the hell you put me through.
But now I want to run,
I want to play,
I want to laugh,
I want to love.
All the things I couldn't do-
All the things I used to fear,
all because you were here.
