Everyone needs a candle now and then

Candle

I
am
the
one
who
lights
the way.
I do my  job every day.
Just  a  little help is all
I  need;  a  fuel source,
heat,    and      oxygen
indeed.  Given time I’ll
make  you  yearn,  but
be  careful,  I’ve  been
known  to burn.  I find
myself  in  the  oddest
places.          Birthday
parties    with    happy
faces.    In  dank,  dark
rooms  that  reek    of
mold, I chase away the
darkness in every fold.
But  shield  me  from a
breeze  you  know, I’m
snuffed  out  with  the
smallest  of blows.  Now
I    come  back    pretty
quick, I recover    fast  with  a
spark on my wick.  So if  you need
a little light, to brighten up the darkest
night;  you might  find  me on a mantle,
come get me, I’m your candle
