A man enters a hallway which he will never come out of.
From the moment I stepped into the damp, narrow hallway, I knew I would not make it out alive. There was nothing odd about the place itself, it did not differ in any way from any of the other offices in the area; it had the same dull, grey walls and the same windowless doors crowded the sides all the way to the shadowy end of the corridor. And yet - something was wrong, really wrong. But there was no turning back now, once you've stepped through the door to office 27, you can't go back.

As the brown door slowly shut behind me and the corridor went pitch black, I had to silence the annoying voice in the back of my head which kept shouting "Stop! You're walking into a trap!". As if I didn't already know that.
The absence of light didn't bother me, I much preferred the peaceful darkness. Besides, I instinctively knew where I was going. I walked slowly down the hallway, savoring the last few moments of my life and preparing myself for the end I knew was about to come.

Suddenly, I got a feeling that I had walked far enough, and  as I turned to the right and reached out with my arm, I felt the handle of one of the doors. With my hand resting on the cold metal handle, I took my last breath and silently whispered a prayer before exhaling and opening the door.
