Unexpected changes lead to unexpected events
Room 613

He paced across the room. He paced back to where he had just been standing. The waiting was killing him. He couldn’t understand why he had to wait in the lobby. He paced back to the pillar in the northeast section of the lobby and stomped back to where he had just been standing. He was most of the way back to the pillar when an attractive young woman approached him.

“Are you Mr. Henning?” she asked very pleasantly.
“I am.” Darren replied abruptly.
“We are sorry for keeping you waiting, but we had to make some last minute changes,” the girl apologized.
“Fine, I just want to get to bed. I have an important meeting in the morning and I need to get some sleep.” Darren grumped at the girl.
“I’ll take you up myself.”

Darren gathered his luggage and followed the young woman.

“Regrettably we thought that you were not going to make it. It is not often that we have guests arrive at midnight. But just the same, we have amended the situation and I trust you will be very pleased with your accommodations,” the young woman continued as they ambled to the elevator.

Upon reaching the sixth floor, Darren was led beyond his usual room to the one next door.

“Why do I not get my usual room?” Darren demanded.

“Please Mr. Henning, other guests are already sleeping.” Jennifer said as she pushed her next victim into the empty room.
