A story about the very thing that haunts my family.
I hate my hair. There are ways to change it, but I'd rather not. I could dye it, perm it, or even highlight it. I had always considered them, but never pulled though.
I have curled it and straightened it. I have tried hairspray, moose, and gel, all promising to give me beautiful, luscious hair. I have tried new shampoo and conditioner. I have changed stylists several times.
I let my hair roam free. I hate the way it flows and waves. I hate how it frizzes out of control. I hate how it poofs when I blow dry it. I hate how it clumps when I don't.
When I think of my hair I think of my sisters, my brother, my father, and all my cousins. That is because we all have the same hair. The "Donoven Curse" we call it jokingly. We meet up and trade secrets on how to tame it and style it. We even trade hair horror stories.
My hair is a part of me. My hair is what make me a Donoven. I love my hair.
