Part 1

Create three sentences for each coordinating conjunction

1.I am allergic to wheat, house dust, and dust mites.
2. I read horror novels and my father reads westerns.
3. Ludia and Jackie were sent to detention today.

1. I have seizures, but I do not have epilepsy.
2. I love eating pasta, but I can't eat it any more.
3. My grandmother bought new glass, but she still couldn't see very well.

1. I would like to rent eitherParanormal Activity 2 or Salt this weekend.
2. After I finish reading The Skeleton Crew, I will either read The Stand or Bag of Bones.
3. I will register for either one or two classes for next semester.

1. He did not want to quit his job, nor did anyone expect him to quit.
2. Susan doesn't like strawberry nor raspberry topping on her cheesecake.
3. Tommy does not read mystery nor fantasy novels.

1. Her mother has yet to buy her a car.
2. I have yet to write a query letter to send to agents.
3. I want to start saving, yet I can't stop spending it.

1. I messed up on my homework, so I received a bad grade.
2. My puppy was upset so I held her.
3. I ran out of root beer, so I drank water instead.

Part 2

Create two sentences for six subordinating conjunctions.

1. As she went inside, her friends yelled "surprised".
2. He walked outside as his dog followed behind him.

1. After I ran out of taco sauce, my mom drove me to the store to buy some more.
2. I walked to the park after I finished my homework.

1. Unless it rains, the wedding will be at the beach.
2. He always goes to church unless he is sick.

1. Until my father stops smoking, he will keep that awful cough.
2. We will stay here until it's time to go to the party.

1. While I was doing my homework, I listened to my Johnny Cash cd.
2. I like to hold my puppy while I watch T.V.

1. She drove to the beach even though it was cloudy.
2. Though I like to shop, I know that I really need to save money.

Part 3

Write one sentence each for each pair of correlative conjunctions.

1. Neither Laveil nor Jessie likes sour cream on their baked potato.
2. Both my birthday and anniversary are in April.
3. I need to make up my mind whether I want to take the Sunrise class or a poetry class next term.
4. I told my mother not to wait up, but she did because she could not sleep.
5. Cereal is as expensive this week as it was last week.
6. Not only did she get a ticket for speeding, but also one for an expired tag.
