On Earth's Where We Stand

On Earth’s Where We Stand

Man was given a right to the world at his birth
But if he didn’t stretch his hand out to the Earth
Would we have our lush gardens?
Houses built up on mountains?
Or know what our nature is really worth?

If man did not set his foot so deep in the land
And did not cover fields up with gravel and sand
Would we be on bended-knee?
Suffering, hungry and thirsty?
And desperate for a helping hand?

Since man gave to the world all his love and his wisdom
The wild earth tamed into a beautiful kingdom
It blossomed all the more
It was better than before
And always had more left to come

But since man had realized his great authority
His greedy eyes did not see responsibility
It was his, that was all
Man seemed not to recall
Earth was home, not some factory


When God put man on Earth, He put also His trust
So to care for Earth and its creatures is a must
Have we forgotten that now?
Have we let it go somehow?
Because now man is driven by power-lust

If man stops using the world, then the man has died
The Earth will not progress without man at its side
It will survive, yes, it may
But in a different way
Where creatures do not interact, for they do not collide

So let’s be men with strong minds and whose hearts rule their hands
And with our knowledge we’ll make a paradise of our lands
We’ll exercise our right
But never lose sight
Of the truth that shows why on Earth’s where we stand
