Harry finally caught the big one... Now if they could only find their truck. Editor Pick
Harry held the rainbow trout high in the air; The hook still sunk deep in its mouth. He wiped the long strands of hair from his face and smiled.

“Dude, take my picture!”

Billy slipped his hand inside his fishing vest, and fumbled through several pockets. “Hmm…. Must’ve left that camera in the truck.”

“Well, go get it. This is the biggest trout I ever caught. Must be 25 pounds at least. We’re going to eat good tonight.” Harry's face shifted back and forth between the prize fish and Billy.

Billy shrugged. “Kind of a long way, but I suppose I could hike back up the hill and get it.”

“Cool. I’ll cool my heels here. This creek is moving pretty fast today with all the rain. The lake is up too.”

“I’ll be back in a few minutes.”

“Ok.”

Billy trudged through the trickling rapids and flopped down on the bank. He removed his wading boots and hot-footed it up the trail.

Harry placed the fish in a large net and wedged it in a tree, then moved over to the cooler and grabbed a Coors. He rested on a large boulder and enjoyed the breeze sifting through his long locks.

After a few minutes Billy came racing toward Harry.

“Harry, someone stole the truck!”

“What!? Who’d steal a truck way out here?”

“It’s gone. I tell ya!”

They both sprinted up to the trail, where their eyes only met a large grassy meadow. Two tracks led off down the hill. They followed them to the edge of the lake.

Harry stared at Billy. “You fool. You didn't put on the emergency brake. It’s in the lake!”

…………………

Rob, the tow truck operator, waded into the lake and attached the cable.

“Look guys I’m reeling in a whopper!”
