Hawaiian Tears

In Hawaii is where I left behind my tears
the ones that were hidden for all those years
this is where I let them go
to burn in the fire of the lava flow
to wash away with the waterfalls and out into the ocean
those last drops of my childhood hidden emotion
In the air where I flew wild and free
to once again just be me
standing on top of the world watching the sunset
Looking back on life no longer with regret
Almost 14,000 ft in the air
no longer feeling any despair
101 ft below the surface
no longer feeling hopeless
this is where I leave the past alone
as I see the beautiful wonders of this world we call home
