Tribute to our fallen soldiers for Memorial day
The trumpets last call echoed in the distance,
Reports from twenty and one,
a caisson slowly pulled,
Loved ones following sadly behind
one last ceremony in full dress,
The life cut short in service to thier country.
The markers precisely placed and another joins the honor ranks
of people that sacrificed their lives for the benefit of thier country.
The crisp folded flag given to a spouse or parent and the final mission draws to a close.
Rest now for your duty is done.

Laid in a garden of stone, may we sow lightly for we reap only sorrow.
