About my children
MY THREE TEACHERS
AUGUST 24, 2006
By: Ida Matilda Wright

I have to say that my life would have stayed the same impossible existence if I had not been given the best teachers in the world.  I lived in a home that I am sure carried love for each other; however, it was hard to see the favorable emotions through all the poverty and chaos. My parents argued a lot and so did my younger sisters. So I never thought that I knew true warmth there.

Then I got married when I was twenty. I was determined to make this a home that I never had. I would never argue with my husband. I would have a clean house and a happy home. That too was not to be. After sixteen years and four other women, I found myself alone with three little children to raise. I still couldn't recognize any true love.

This is where I truly learned that I had so much to learn, and I understood that love was not in the arms of a man or in the chaos of memories. Each of my children has true strength in their arms when they hug me. They have true affection when they look at me.

Neither of my children could ever understand how much that they have literally saved their mother's  life.  You see each of them have something that has brought me from the darkest place that this life could have put a person.

Charity is so head strong and stubborn. She believes that her job is to protect her mom. Someone causes me to cry, Charity makes sure that they know how she feels about it. She is my little guardian who (from time to time) sits on her momma's lap.

Christian is my little police officer. He has ADHD, but he does not change his mind when he has decided he wants something. He has his own beliefs, and he has taught  me to stand up for what I believe. His energy has has shown me how to gain patience.

Noah has a true passion about life. He loves animals and people alike. He has a hug for anything that appears to need it.

Anytime I need inspiration, I call one of my little teachers into my lap. I find that giving them a little loves gives me a lot of strength.

So in closing pay close attention to the traits of your children, you might just learn what you need to be able to thrive and not just exist.
