A short poem written whilst staying with friends in their creaky and interesting house
This old house moves, it creaks and shudders
As the silence within reveals days uncovered
The occupants lie uninterrupted by fear
As the clocks strike twelve, the ghosts will appear
Gaunt and transparent they search with all their might
To hunt down a creature too meek to fight
The trouble inflicted makes him walk a troublesome road
As the hospitable one is as green as the toad
The problems encountered were a far sight from home
The honesty uncovered stone by stone
As messages lay broken down in sand
The ghosts say goodbye and goodnight to the land
