Being a repeat student is not really bad!
What do a youth award winner, a tuition center owner and a top student in class have in common? Not the fact that they are geniuses but the reality that they were once repeat students in school!
Now, they have it all- good education, awards and rewarding careers but it was not all smooth sailing in school. It is not very easy conquering those fears once you are retained: the disappointment of parents, the loss of friends....and the list goes on.
Instead of dwelling negatively on this issue, repeat students should learn to accept the situation and work even harder.
For some of us, being retained could be due to carelessness and lack of hard work, but what about those who are really slow at picking up? Actually, having a high IQ is not the issue, as long as you are willing to work, the battle is already won. Don't be bothered by time because education never ends! The most important thing is not to let anyone or anything let you down.
You have to start by admitting that no amount of nagging from anyone would turn a 48 into 84 without a commitment to study. Only the student involved can turn matters around.
So, don't be depressed if you are retained but work harder because, by combining what you have already learnt with what you are re-learning, you can do really well.
Being retained isn't so bad after all!
