This is a poem about life, and how precious it is.
I sit
Cross-legged
In the wood

Meditation,
Engulfs me
And I become a nearby tree

My birth
Goes through my eyes
What a wonderful sight

I stretch out
My first leaf
Getting my first taste of sunlight

So Sweet
So simple
So warm

I want more
Oh gluttony
My mistress

Bring more light
To fill
My empty soul

The more I get
The more I grow
Until one leaf becomes two

The other trees talk;
Describing life
No sound reaches my ears

I stretch my stem
Soaking sun
Soaking sky

The trees around quiet
They’ve seen this before;
Ignorance

I grew upward
Not thinking
Pushing others to the side

My mistress
Guides me
Upward

Soon
I am almost,
Adult

They try
Again
To talk

I listen
To the sadness
Of growing out of soot,

The sadness of
Loving
But never touching

Too much
For my soul
I block out

The rest
Again they think;
Ignorance

Soon I am
Taller
Than most around me

A young bark
I test their
Nerves frequently

Rustling my leaves
To cause a riot

Tripping humans
To
laugh

Watch the
animals make love
on their bodies

They distain
Is
evident

No one
Talks
Anymore

They wait
For something
I know not of

My thousands
Of leaves
Sing

For
They see a
Beautiful

Nearby tree
Those leaves
That trunk,

I want to touch
That trunk
But

She is
A mile
Away

Why!
Why!
Is mother so mean!

I want her
But can’t have her
Why!

No tree
Around
Answers me

Rain falls
Down
on me

My sap
Flows with
The water

My pain
My desire
Set them free!

Why
Are
You torturing!

Why
Are you
torturing!

My soul
The rain never stops
I don’t want it to

I see her in the distance,
Green and brown,
Leaves stretched towards

Me
Years
Go by

Finally,
The rain
Stops

One
Can’t
Change life

Life takes
Its
Toll

RUMBLE
The gorund
Shakes

RUMBLE
I look
At

The person
I’ve
Avoided

RUMBLE
Her leves
Quiever

She screams
STOP!
HELP!

STOP!
HELP
BOOM

I see
And hear
her body

hit the floor
RUMBLE
What would

Do that
RUMBLE
Why her!

The trees
Around
Are silent

They know
Something
I do not

I feel
Anger
Sadness

Pain,
So much
Pain!

RUMBLE
Something
Pierces me

By the base
Of my
body

I feel
Sharp
Pain

My long roots
Look for water

My leaves
Look for
Light

My body
Gets
Torn

My body
jars,
Trying to stop the pain

Pain
Won’t
Stop

They
Won’t
Stop

They reach
My center
My centeral

Nerve
Sap
Flows

No longer
Mainly attached
To

The
ground
I fall

I see
The sky
Blue

Glorified
Light
Blinds

My
leafs
no longer

can my
mistress
keep me

BAM
I hit the
Ground

My
Head
Splits

My
Leaves
Spit

Sap flows
Everywhere
Head hurt

Body hurts
Stop
It

Please.
Someone
Must stop it

The other trees
Just look at
Me

Sneering
As the
Humans run

To where
I
Know not
A whisper

Comes
from
my side

a wither.
“Young boy
Ignorance

Used to be
Your friend.
But

Now I think
You must
Know.

You have
Been cut off you
Lifesource.

No longer
Can you
Grow.

Death is
But expected,
For humans

Use us for
Life.
Just hope

You become a
Newsweek
Instead of

U.S. Weekly…”
He says
No more

My
Sap
Says

It all.
I’m dying
No help

Good thing
My heart’s
Already gone

So this pain
Doesn’t hurt
As much

Days turn
Long
Leaves wither

They come
Back
Sneering

Croaking
Bottles in
Hands

HACK
HACK
HACK

They
Cut
Me

Into
Pieces!
HACK

I would love
To
Make

Them
Stop
But they

Won’t for the
Ignorance
Had

Now is
In
Them

My
Mistress
Loses loveliness

Their
Laughter
Disgusts

Me
Life
Drizzles

Back
Into the
Earth

Which
created
Me

My
Mistress
Leaves.

Please don’t
Make me
A U.S.Weekly…

My eyes open
Tears
No sobs

Run
Down
My

Cheeks.
I felt
My pain.

I felt
His life
Leave.

Why
do we
do this?

WHY
WHY
WHY!
