A poem about the heart
No name

It has no name
Some say it has eyes, inner piercing eyes
Eyes that see beyond the words
Seeing past the huge distorted nose
Past those bits that you despise the most
Seeking the real you

Others claim they’ve seen its soul
Delicate, tender and faithful
Forgiving those who hurt it most
Freely giving without counting the cost
Loving, the real you

They are those with tears on their cheeks
Silently, they weep, drying tears that fail to dry
They whisper with caution on their lips
“We’ve seen it frozen, we’ve felt it break,” they cry
When it’s hard, it’s ruthless - when it breaks, it hurts
Hurting, the deeper you

Is there no cure, I ask
"Time," the voices mumble, screaming and shouting
“Silence!” says the angel
Time heals but slowly it does
The only cure is love
It has a name
The heart
Finding, the real you
