We talked about forgiveness.
SILENCED

You took me to the river,
but you wouldn’t let me drown.
We talked about forgiveness
while the rain came pouring down.

I know that it was awkward,
telling me about your past.
The secrets that you’d hidden,
all the love’s that didn’t last.

The sun set on our evening
but we couldn’t say good-night;
so we talked about tomorrow
hoping it would turn out right.

The next day was terrific,
found its end in the moonlight.
Our bond was re-connected
and our souls again took flight.

Happy for what just happened
then you couldn’t find your voice.
Impatient with desire
close your eyes and just rejoice.
