A poem about cooking and summer - enjoy
For years, we’ve had a grungy, old skillet,
To prepare our food as we please –
But now, it’s time to give in and toss it
And buy new cookware with ease…

We’d sizzle our breakfast, the eggs and the meat –
At home, we’d fix our own meals,
Then bring it to campouts, and keep it so neat,
With sponges and dish soap, the deals!

But those were the days for a beat-up, ol' skillet
As dingy and black as a bear;
We could use it more, but should probably kill it,
And buy a replacement somewhere…

So time to let go of this trusty, old friend
And buy a new iron skillet;
To cook with this wonder has come to an end –
Some money well spent, now we'll use it!
