A mother to a son.
And the wind, it blows from tree to tree
As he sleeps and dreams here next to me
And the wind, it blows 'round us, a pair
I feel his movement here and there.

I shudder to think of him differently,
As I see him so calm and peaceful.
His feathered hair blows in the whispers,
As a bird would float so graceful.

Yet as the evening hurries on,
I wonder if we two are equal.
And as he wakes to his mother's song,
He smiles and thanks me, grateful.
