It's time we stopped living in the red, and slowly move, Back To Black
Back To Black

Ever since the day I wed,
My finances have been mostly in red.
While I’m not entirely “back in black”,
I’m doing better, I’ve straightened my act.

Now our country sits here enmeshed in red
We owe so much, we’re caught in a web.
We owe trillions, but Congress doesn’t seem to care,
Spending cuts are needed, but what programs, Where ?

The rich make the laws, the poor always suffer,
Are taxed on everything, they have no buffer.
Let’s stop the silliness of paying pensions so soon,
To those who’ve held office, my what a boon!

Cut Congress, Senate, and the Supreme Court’s pension,
That’s just small apples so far I’ve mentioned.
Let’s help our own in times of great need,
Repair America first, our poor we should feed.

Forget foreign aid, I know that’s quite a bit,
I mean everything, for you have to admit.
We can no longer spend like we have before,
So cut all this nonsense, and spend no more.

Congress needs to realize that our bank’s run dry,
Now’s the time to save, not the time to buy.
Get us out of debt, don’t let it fall through the cracks,
I’m tired of living like this, let’s get back to black.
