His Spirit within

His spirit is within me, calming the torrents of my terse and simple world, bringing to me peace and tranquility as His Spirit assures me of His magnificent presence.  In my own spirit that dwells within do I find the purpose this world is lacking for me.  In the dwelling that the very Spirit of God within my spirit do I find the sufferings in this world calmed by the peace that is within.          

In this we know we are a child of God: “The Spirit itself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God…”  In our spirit, overshadowed with the Spirit of God, bringing the peace, the peace of all eternity, the foretaste of now and forever in the peace I know I have now in God’s Spirit and will know all the more, how much more, forever and ever. 

It is the knowledge of God’s love by the gift of His Spirit, the Spirit of God that is the first and the last, the promise of Genesis to the finality of Revelation.  It is the promise that I know He has given me
and has given to all of us. 

It is the promise of eternal life even at the very end of time.  God’s peace, the peace given to me by His Spirit, makes me understand that His peace in a world of full of strife and turmoil is the proof of His eternal glory.  And it is the proof of the eternal glory that He has given to us by His mercy and grace.  In this is our hope, the hope of being present in body and spirit when the Holy City of Jerusalem comes down from Heaven with the glory of God as our light in its lamp, Christ, and the river flowing from the throne of God and the Lamb.  It is the proof of the promise that is our hope.
