The devastating effect of Irene.
Hurricane Irene came with authority,
Inflicting hardship and pain with severity.
She roared and demolished electric power
With extensive damages every minute of the hour.

She came on the radar out from afar;
Born in the Atlantic, she became a star;
Packed with ammunition, ready for war;
Powerful as a goddess with victory on par.

Fierce winds whipped
And air particles flipped;
Many fled low line areas
While some stayed within secured barriers.

We hoped, prayed and wished
But from ocean to land Irene switched.
From a hurricane to a tropical storm of size one,
Irene succeeded in having the battles won.
