2. The situation reached a flash point when union leaders urged the workers to protest.

Included here are flash fiction pieces of 1000 words or less. I began this partly as an exercise to help me hone my writing (which it certainly has) and partly because I thought these shorter pieces would take less time and be easier to write (Hah! Easier! Yeah right!).

All stories here are meant to stand alone, but all can be read as parts of much larger stories as well. As the title of the collection implies, my goal is to capture that moment in a story when something changes, when the conflict, whether external or internal, comes to a head, and nothing afterwards is ever quite the same.

I also believe that every reader brings to every story something special and unique, and it would be a mistake for writers to think of their works as static creations without a life of their own. With that in mind, many of these stories have no cut-and-dry conclusion. How the conflict in the story resolves, and how the larger conflict around it resolves, is up to you, dear reader, and if these pieces inspire you own imagination, then so much the better.

As always, please feel free to give me any feedback. Write on!
