This poem is about my emotions for a guy that can't be shown just yet.
When we became friends,
I swore we'd stay that way,

But then one day I noticed something,
My feelings for you had changed,

I denied it for awhile,
Trying to run away from truth,

One day the truth came out,
You never seemed surprised,

Instead one look told me something else,
Our feelings were the same,

We got to know each other better,
My emotions continuing to change,

You asked me out on a date,
We had a lot of fun,

You took my hand so tenderly,
And made it feel so right,

I could not help but notice something,
Your hand felt just right in mine,

As I battled with these new emotions,
The night came to an end,

And with it the realization,
There's so much more around the bend,

So friends for now we will stay,
I just hope we can stay that way,

With emotions soaring and feelings splattered,
I hope our hearts won't end up shattered,

I care about you,
I hope you know,

But right now we just can't show,
The emotions that in us flow,

Maybe one day things will change,
But for now these things must not be shown.
