Past: Six years ago, this young man suddenly disappeared without a trace, his belongings all being left behind at a community park. Whatever had happened throughout that time is still a mystery, but three years later he is found miraculously alive five states away. An emergency call was received in the premises by the local police department, the citizen stating "He's covered in ink from head to toe, moaning in pain or something!" An emergency vehicle was dispatched and picked up the ink-covered man, quickly taking him to the nearest hospital where he was stabilized. After identifying him as Travis, his family was notified immediately and was transported back home. To everyone's amazement, he looked just like he did when he went missing!

A year later, Travis let his family know about a secret he's kept to himself, afraid how they might have reacted earlier... His body underwent a complete transformation, and showed himself as a quadrupedal in grey coloration and a black-tipped tail, looking and acting like a brush. His body is almost that of ink like that; he always appears like his former appearance nowadays, using his older brother as a kind of reference as to how he should look like. He ultimately disregards his true form and keeps it at bay, but as a new recruit we shall help encourage him and his abilities...

It was Travis's first day to work at the Special Cases Corporation as well as being his second time laying eyes on the facility. He wasn't sure exactly how all of this detective stuff worked, but he was told earlier that he could learn while on the job. Think of it like an internship, except developing into your work as you learn. Travis remembered what a man told him at his interview, being something on the level of comforting for a newbie. The sunrise may have been trying to say it was going to be a great day, but Travis knew it was going to be a LONG day. It's usually like that with new members, typically speaking. He approached the glass double doors, each one having the logo of the Corporation. Alright, here goes. I may mess up, I may do good, I don't know how I'll do. I just know I'm a newbie, and I gotta start at the bottom of the chain. The doors gently open up and shut with little to no noise, revealing a large room with a reception counter against the back wall. A woman could be seen behind the counter, typing on a laptop almost as if she was trying to look busy. Travis approached her, politely waiting for her to find a stopping point in her work.

Awkward seconds passed by... Travis coughed in a certain manner as if to get someones attention, and it worked. She looked at him and asked, "Haven't seen you around here, how can I help you?" Pulling out a wallet, Travis showed her his identification card given to him previously as proof of his status. "I'm rather new, and this is like my first day..." She looked at the card, then pressed a button and spoke into a microphone. "Chris, come down to the lobby please. We have a new guy." She went back to her work; Travis asked her, "I don't know too much about this job, do you know what I'll learn?" Without straying from her work, she answered "You'll learn a little bit from everyone..."
