Attempt at a woman's perspective
She wanders aimlessly
Through a minefield of pain and rejection
While maintaining the same path
That’s lead her down
So many dead ends.

Now, she expects it
Accepts it.
The disappointment
That’s waiting to call her name.

She’s grown accustomed
To being discarded
After a night of drinking
Or two nights
Or maybe it was three.

But, she returns for more
Just for the night
Whether he’s married
Or not
She doesn’t care.

Tomorrow will take care of itself
She hopes that whoever she picks might stay
Longer than a day.

She knows they won’t
They never do
No matter what they say.
