It was told from ancestors, the quilt was over 100 years old, the gggreat grand mother made the quilt out of rags she had around, and a lot from her neighbors. The quilt is ragged around the seams. but is still usable. Now Kate wants to get it repaired, But other family members say leave it be. Don't want to mess with the story of it. now need to stir up a hornets nest. The story goes that it covered some soldiers protected them, when the battle came to her home, she being alone, so the story goes. Now theres more to the story, the gggreat-grandma fell in love with one of the soldiers, so did they meet after the war, did anything happen? or was this just a handed down story to enhance the beauty of a quilt! |
