A poem of one child's christmas wish.
It's night time now. My mother says that I must go to sleep.

She says I need to stay in bed, from it I shouldn't creep.

But how can I stay up here now? I know what's down the stair.

The Christmas tree! And Santa Claus! Oh, this isn't fair!

I want to see his rosey cheeks! I want to hear him laugh!

I only saw him once this year! I just sat on his lap...

I want a new toy Thomas train! I want a new pet fish!

Actually, Mr. Santa Claus. I only have one wish.

My daddy is in uniform, he wasn't here today.

My mommy said he's in a place that's very far away.

Maybe you could bring him home? You have that super-sleigh.

I just want to say "I love you, dad!" and maybe we could play.

So Santa Claus, you have my wish. I want my Papa here.

Gather up your present sacks, and hitch up your reindeer.

Bring him home for Mommy, too. I hate to see her cry.

Give the toys and stuff to other kids, 'kay Santa Claus? Goodbye!
