DEAR ME. Dear Me, You've gone another year of broken resolutions. Must try harder, you will prevail, And work out some solutions! Empty all the closets, Throw the clothes out on the floor. They must have shrunk, they look too small, Don't fit you any more! Oh, here's a pile of boxes, What is in here? Who knows? Knitting, sewing, drafts of poems, A year of UFO's! (Unfinished objects) Dear Me, You have been naughty, This year there's lots to do. Get out into the back yard shed ~ It needs attention too! I think you said this all last year, But all went by the board. The chores have grown much larger Meg, Cannot now be ignored! Give yourself a month or two And get right up to scratch. Then you can concern yourself With goals : You've plans to hatch! Dear Me, You're getting older now: I'm not saying you are old! But there's a growing family Who need stories to be told! Grandchildren who have come along Need to know the history, Of family who have long since passed (When your gone, 'twill be a mystery!) Start packing, girl, get moving! Travel 'round this great wide land. Your family, spread so near and far, They need to understand! Just where their family roots were sown. Who was famous ~ (who was not!) Take, with you, your photos, Share them round, there's such a lot! Dear Me, I'm almost certain You'll achieve your goal this year! It sounds exciting, I may come too! Cherish those you hold so dear! You do not have to thank me For suggesting such a goal . I'm only here to lend a thought, Cheers now, Your loving Soul. xxx 273 words |
