i wrote this as a sequel to a break up poem i wrote last may
i look up into the night sky,
and become engulfed in it's dark abyss.
the fire crackling next to me,
the stars gleaming high above.

i look beside me, and remember your not there.
it seems so strange, so foreign.
i sit here,
remembering our first kiss,
your smile,
my laugh.

i breath in deep and let the memory surround me.
letting our last night together embrace me:
the warmth of the fire,
the heat of your kiss...

i let it out slowly as i hear the desert whisper in my ear:
have no regrets,
never be sad,
no love lasts forever,
but any love had,
is the hearts greatest treasure.
