A little intro to a story I might write.
Do you know what it’s like to lose the one you love? If so, I am deeply sorry. I, of all people, would know how it feels. The feeling of having your very essence ripped from your soul and having it slashed apart, like the blood-soaked flag of a once-great nation, right in front of your eyes. I, of all people, should know how it burns.
But have you ever been the reason you lost your lover?
I lost my love, right if front of my eyes. I should know, I was standing right next to him as it happened. After all, it was me who pulled the trigger.
         I didn’t kill him. No.
I did much worse. So much worse…
If I had killed him, at least people would know he existed. At the very least, people would know his name from the news, or his picture in the paper, perhaps. His family would mourn, his friends laugh and cry at half-forgotten jokes and stories.
No… The sin I had borne was one far worse then one comprehensible to man. I did not stop his beating heart, to freeze it for all eternity. I made it so that his heart had simply never been. The hearts of many others, as well. I wiped his existence off the face of the universe. Because of me, he had never caressed the surface of the world, or changed the lives of those he’d have met. I’m the only one who remembers him.
I made it so he had never been born in the first place.
