A poet's ode to his love.
The Tempest

Yesterday I heard a song on the radio

“I need a fix of you” the singer said.

I laughed, for I need so much more

I need a lake, a reservoir, a river,

Endless and strong, flowing eternally

Into the deepest vast ocean,

Where the tide ever kisses the shore.

I need to ride the tempest of your waves,

Drown in the dark depths of your love.

I must bathe in the calm green waters

Under the blazing sun of your beauty,

To float on the tranquil night of your charm

Stare devotedly into the sparkle of your eyes,

Their brightness rivaling the jewels of the night,

The glimmering of stars in their glory.

Like the aura of the moon, full and shining,

Its silver rays caressing the coldest heart

Filling the emptiness of my soul.
