about losing
Outside the weather is cold and damp, as rain falls gently against my tin roof.

As I lie here with you.... my soul overflows with warmth, for your love gives off a kindness and a sweetness like I've never known before.

I cling to you underneath sheets that are tangled,
entwining my body close to yours, feeling pure peace and oblivious to any real purpose in life.

The dawn is breaking, as sunlight filters through the half closed curtains, projecting little slivers of light in the room.

As I gaze at the beauty of your face, the sound of your breathing caresses my senses like the smell of a fresh cut lawn.

The image passes quickly.....as my alarm sounds and my brain is shuttered into wake mode.

The realization that it was only a dream reflects itself in a single tear drop.

For you have left me for another.....death came and swept you off your feet.
