Back in time with the King.
A geenie has granted me this wish
An opportunnity I couldn't dare to resist
So much for us to share; so much for us to discuss
Know your answers; your secrets with me you can trust.

You taught the world to shake rattle and roll
Wouldn't you have liked to grow old?
You sang Return to Sender
then went on day long benders
Your Mother called you Elvis
The World called you King

I've heard it said your heart held love for only one
How did you feel when that world became undone?
Was it easy to loose your soul
For a life of Rock and Roll?

Was the stage a place you felt safe
knowing that Heartbreak Hotel was only a bus ride away
When the crowd went wild, every mother woman and child
Was the rush triumphant and glorious
Or did long for the stillness of Memphis

We couldn't help falling in love with you
Becuase we knew you loved us too.
There was magic in your smile
What a shame we knew you for such a short while.

In life you may have been All Shook up
Sacrificing much; A hunk of Burning Love
In death, may you find peace
And comfort from above

I am thankful for the time you were here
Thankful for the time we shared
When you hear Love Me Tender
Know that I still care.
