A double etheree poem about being hurt by someone you love. An experiment with the form.
Love,
Listen
To my heart.
Hear my great ache
It is breaking fast
By your treacherous act;
The beat is so erratic
And my tears are falling quickly
And I wonder if our love will last—
How will we ever move on past this lie?

How can I stand here and look in your eyes?
Eyes that I did once cherish so much
Eyes that promised to care for me:
Windows to a cherished soul
That I cherish now no more.
How I wish to flee here!
Escape this sad place,
Leave lies behind,
Mend my heart
Which you
Broke.
