I was watching a funeral procession pass by my school and wept for a man I never knew.
I never even knew you,
I still don't know your name.
You walked these halls before me,
And somehow we are the same.

I live in my dreams,
But my life is not real.
Your dreams were your life,
And you lived in it, I feel.

You were there for your country,
Whether or not you could do.
You loved it and it's people,
The ones you never knew.

But as you pass by me,
Cold and in a box,
I wonder if it's worth it,
Behind all of these locks.

But you were here,
Where I am now,
You loved so many,
And lived somehow.

I never even knew you,
I never really will,
But I know of some place,
For you, upon God's hill.
