Entry for today's writer's cramp competition.
You are as cold as ice,
Your eyes are black as midnight sky,
Life has escaped your arms’ strong vice
Now limp and lost in my arms you lie.

Your breath, once sweet as fresh warm milk
No longer tickles my rough cheek,
Your hair, once shining raven silk,
Now wilted lies lifelessly weak.

Your words still echo round my head,
A chilling reminder of the ache
That surrounds my life now that you’re dead,
Forever more, you will not wake.

I miss your crystal wind-chime laugh,
Your glowing emerald eyes,
In heaven I will find your heart,
But for now, my dear, goodbye.
