A poem about financial worries
Yesterday we worried about tomorrow,
We tried to prepare for all contingencies,
Put money in securities and savings,
We tried to foresee future emergencies,
We did not voice our financial misgivings,
Or question our resource overconsumption,
We believed that we were making good livings,
Then came the world monetary disruption,
And we experienced financial sorrow,
Now every day we worry about money,
And cannot seem to find anything funny.

Line count: 11
Form: An Onzain Neerlandaise is an 11-line poem, with each line consisting of 11 syllables. The rhyme scheme is a-b-c-b-c-d-c-d-a-e-e.
