Kaoru and Hikaru: Bad Dreams

         

Red seeps through an open wound, creating a flowing splotch of deep red on Kaoru's pure white dress .
Hikaru, amazed by the sight, watches in awe . The chimes outside ring a quiet tone . Kaoru drops to the ground, as if put to sleep by the constant ringing of the chimes . The only sentence that comes out of Hikaru's mouth is "Who ?", asking the wind . The space around her seems to be growing, yet getting smaller . The sight of her sister getting farther and farther away . The room gets fuzzy, her breathing becomes shallow . The faint smell of ashes is detected . Her sister's scent .

Hikaru wakes up in a flash, breathing heavily . Looking around, she realizes that it was just a bad dream .
Kaoru comes in with a steaming pot of tea .

Kaoru: Kaoru, obvious to the fact that Hikaru is startled says, "Is there something wrong ?" . Kaoru sets the pot on the bed side table and goes to Hikaru's side to comfort her .

Hikaru: Trying to seem like the elder of the two says, "No, not at all . Now, are you going to let the tea get cold ?" .

Kaoru: Laughing at the fact that Hikaru can't hide anything from her while handing her a cup of prepared tea . "I wish you would take in the fact that . . . you're rooms a mess", Kaoru playfully complained while picking up dirty clothes off of Hikaru's bedroom floor .

Hikaru: "Maybe I can't because it's not . Hey, put some of those clothes back . They might be clean, now that I think about it" Hikaru said, thinking of how much she really loved her sister at this very moment .

Kaoru: "Yeah, yeah . Make your excuses" . Kaoru laughed and walked out the room .

Hikaru: Hikaru sighed and laid back down .

"Well, better get back to Dream Land" .
