Standing between shadows,
Where unrelenting memories press
Sadly between sorrows,
A pensive yearning must confess -
The bloom of youth is lost among illusions that will be expressed.

Suffering between scarceness,
Where destitution is the norm.
Flailing between fierceness,
A hunger blankets every storm -
The flesh of youth is lost among illusions that must be conformed.

Breaking between brothers,
Where parting is the only way.
Needing between neighbors,
A journey north will come one day -
The nerve of youth is lost among illusions that will go astray.

Blending between borders,
Where gainful prospects may be found.
Strictly between strangers,
A lonely lifestyle may confound -
The grace of youth is lost among illusions that may run aground.

Learning between lessons,
Where formal studies will suspend.
Saving between sessions,
A high degree will not be penned -
The drive of youth is lost among illusions that may never end.

Moving between moonbeams,
Where hidden lives are intertwined.
Diving between daydreams,
A candid mind must be resigned -
The joy of youth is lost among illusions that are left behind.

Crossing between countries,
Where hardened hearts must be resolved.
Forlornly between families,
A hidden life is not absolved -
The soul of youth is lost among illusions that will now evolve.

Running between raindrops,
Where delicate pathways may converge.
Tracing between teardrops,
A captured soul cannot diverge -
The gift of youth is only earned when truthful actions can emerge.
