The sixth part of the Hidden series.
Now it has come.
That which he has feared
is now finally here.

The man is now locked
in a battle of wills
with the mighty one.
His adversary stands tall before him,
for nothing is greater in size, nor wisdom.
It is against Kronos
he dares make a stand.

He is afraid,
for the battle
shall last many months
and he fears he shall lose
and Kronos' most fearsome weapon
take hold of his mind forever:
insanity.

His former companions
are now irrelevant.
All that matters now
is beating Kronos,
beating time itself.

He fears that if
he loses now
he will forget
all that is good.
The thought of this
keeps him fighting.

He tries to shield his mind
while attempting to breach the enemy's.
Yet, what Kronos does with ease
he struggles to accomplish.
Some solace he takes from knowing
that each day brings him closer
to the end of the battle.

He gathers his strength
and makes a push
to shove Kronos' insanity
out of his mind.
Temporarily he succeeds
and has a moment
to think and grieve
to himself before
the battle begins anew.

As the might
of Kronos' weapon
batters at his barriers
once again, he makes his stand,
too scared to do anything else.

He knows he must only
hold out until the light
returns, one beautiful day
in many months. However,
it is far ahead and the battle is not.
This, the hardest part
of his long journey shall
take a heavy toll,
but he cares not as long
as he can still win.
