Where else to turn; Where is the escape?
I want to lose my mind.

Drink madness
in every drop of air
and scream.

Envelop
soul
in Velvet Red; Sleep in
Cold comfort
And dream.

And I dream of
Gilded prayers
and open cages.
Feathers at the bottom
To remind someone that
Freedom is worth the price of love.

I dreamed that this madness would last;
Then I opened my eyes
And saw the golden bars.

Tears
and
Broken hope.

I'm still a prisoner in another's dream.
But I know an escape.

Madness lies in Velvet Red
And the drink of freedom
Courses through these veins.

I want to see freedom;
I want to scream.
I want to

Lose my mind
And fall asleep.
