What say you, o lonely night?

The clouds have obscured the pathway to the stars
depriving me of their light
for it's only by the light of the sun's midnight matron
that I can see.

My fear of being lost,
of being stuck in limbo,
is now tenfold
as I am blinded by a thick cloud of emptiness.

What say you, o lonely night?
No words of wisdom?
'Tis a shame,
for I sought solace in your bosom,
only to be turned away by a cold face.

Those I needed most have left me in the dust,
so that I may start anew,
in solitude,
but I'll always look to you, o lonely night
in the hopes that you may one day
shine your stars upon me again.
