The tragic story of a troubled young girl.
Lana
by Tristan Weiland

Lana is a girl
Born in the wrong time
She wished for better days
Just couldn't fall in line

She tried to find a hand
To take her where she belonged
But Daddy tried to change her
She never knew where she went wrong

Lana ran from home
Just barely out of school
Fought the world alone
Didn't care about the rules

She followed her own heartbeat
Fought her way up from nothing
Her friends could only watch
As she tried to become something

She finally gave in
Still young in her years
Alone she couldn't make it
Trapped beneath her tears

Her life became more shallow
There was nothing more
Lana left herself behind
Stopped swimming towards the shore

The drugs; they helped her fly
The sex; it let her fall
She remembered Daddy's touch
As the reason for it all

And that she was forced to live
In a loving time of hate
Her natural perversion
That sealed away her fate

And now here Lana lies
She could take no more
A fallen beauty; alone and still
At only thirty-four
