To hear a bird's song is special but a bluebird's song is unique.
The Bluebird's Song

Sitting beneath an old pear tree,
I was startled to hear a sound so unique.
I looked above on a branch of the tree
To find a humble bluebird chirping hello to me.
He sang so sweetly, he sang so sincere
That none other could compare to his sound and
All other birds stopped in mid song to hear the notes of the bluebird's song.
For so long I sat and listened
All the while my heart-beat quickened.
Although I will never know the words of his song
I will never hear a greater sung ballad
Than the one I was privilaged to hear from him.
He sang from his soul the most cheerful a tune
And rose and fell with the hand of an unforeseen maestro.
Time faded away and the light melted into hues of gray
But still I listened to the bluebird's song.
As the sun slowly slipped away from the sky
The bluebird came to an end of his song.
He paused when he finished,
The last note hanging in the air as if the world itself was not yet ready for sleep.
I looked at him one last time, said adieu,
And watched as he effortlessly flew away in the dwindling light.
I never saw him again but I will never forget the song he sang.
I hear his song far away in the distance and my heart feels lighter
And a smile comes over my face,
For no other bird can recite the song of the bluebird.
