A man reviews and assesses the merit of living and purpose.
You know, the green monster known as "The Hulk" was never really my favorite super hero. I have always aspired to be calm in every situation, but it's nearly inhuman. The Fear, the Despair, and the Rage within Dr. Banner is something I understand more than anything about the human condition. I recently watched "The Avengers", and a certain line struck me like a spear in the chest. Tony Stark asked Banner what his secret was in the middle of the conflict of the movie, but of course he got his answer near the end.

"Do you want to know what my secret is Stark?" He paused. "I'm always angry."

The man turned into the monster before the eyes of the other heroes, and he was no longer a liability. What is a man with perpetual Rage? Even if it is controlled. Is the Rage contained within the man fuel for the hero inside? If we was able to end it after this particular incident with Loki, would he do it? Too many questions and not enough answers. I would like to think he would be given the chance.

His life is filled with Fear, and Despair, and Rage. Not to mention loneliness. Is a life worth living filled with nothing but these things?
My life sits on a foundation of ill deserved intellectual superiority and Rage. Atleast Banner could rely on his intellect.
He didn't have the monster when he was studying in college, exploring life. I envy him.
Not for his power, but for his purpose.
