Poem describing memories of past Thanksgiving mornings.
As the sun slowly rises in the east,
We begin preparations for the feast.
Preparation of the turkey is the first,
As the early morning sunshine appears with a burst.

The frosty ground crackles as the children’s feet,
Make crunchy sounds, a marvelous feat,
As sounds of laughter fill the air
The children are playing without a care.

The kitchen bustles with busy cooks,
Delightful smells fill every nook.
Turkey, dressing and other good fare,
Provide lots of good food for all who are there.

Praise to the Lord for the wonderful day,
And thanks for the bountiful food today.
After the meal, the big games begin,
Football, oh football, root for your team to win
With cheering and friendship, Thanksgiving Day ends.
