Deep, dark, thoughts...
-- Another poem, blast from the past. It too seems unfinished, because it is. If there are any suggestions, I welcome them all...--

In this dark and desolate place
We find ourselves looking face to face
Knowing that you hurt, lie, and cheat
While wearing a mask that's as sweet as a peach

Not understanding the truth's been exposed
The One above, He always knows
The things that we do, and places we go
Truly what we have, and what we refuse to show

You think you've fooled the entire world
Not seeing their pain, not watching your lies unfurl
Living your life day by day
Doing the same thing, moving in the same ol'way

One day the light is shown, your eyes are opened wide
You see yourself sinking, it the mound of your lies
Trying to escape, but to no avail
The front you love so deep, pulling you down into hell

You try to escape, but each attempt is met with defeat
The cold, dark realization seems to add weight to your feet
As hard as you can, escape is your main goal
Never stopping to ask God for help, allowing Him full control

So, now you are here, neck deep in your own crap
Trying to scream for help, still sinking in your own trap
You twist and turn, and try with all your might
Only to find yourself alone, you give up, you've lost the fight
