A series of Small Stones
A jellyfish
tumbles in the waves
as we swim by.
We briefly touch.
Connection.

Crest-break-roll.
Crest-break-roll.
Brine fills my nostrils,
coats my lips.
Again, Daddy, again!

On the breakwater
pools fill with life,
temporary micro-ecosystems

A Small Stone is a very brief poem, optimizing meaning in a small space. These three poems were inspired by a trip to the beach with my family.
