Writer's Cramp Entry
Fireworks explode; the brilliant flash blinding me.
Once again my words or actions have lit his fuse
and the timer is set to decimate.
When did the flag fall? I cannot see me
through the smoke and flashes.
My banner is crumbled upon the decked
and my blood runs red across the planks
I need to walk.

I need to rise upon my mast, my staff will support me
and I shall rise above the fray
for the flashes of pain are fading, the colors muted in the mist
but the dawn is coming, the sun shall rise
and today will be my independence day
and, freely,
I will walk away.
